Self discipline and creativity are more closely linked than you can imagine. Painting is my passion and I look forward to painting as much as possible. However, there are times when laziness and procrastination or other responsibilities take up the time. This is when the connection of self discipline and creativity as a painter plays its part.

One might think that if a person follows his/her passion, it’s easy to perform a task. It’s true to a certain extent as work does not really feels like work. However, it’s not that simple. The act of showing up daily for your work/passion takes effort. Even if I love painting, there are myriad distractions in this fast moving world. It’s important to prioritize and decide where you want to spend most of your time.

Even if you love what you do, you still get exhausted. Let’s face it, we all need some time to relax and rest. In fact, we perform our best when we are rejuvenated and at ease with ourselves. This is where prioritizing what’s most important and allotting time and pre planning really helps. The connection of self discipline and creativity as a painter involves good planning, time management, will power and determination beyond skills and talent.
