Some color combinations when used tactfully in a painting, they exude joy. That’s what happened with my painting when I used orange and green combination. It received lots of attention and it was aptly entitled “Jubilance”.

Being eager to use orange and green combination in my painting; I was thinking of ideas to do justice to the same. The best way seemed to be to use orange flowers in a lush green background. As sometimes I like adding my own touch of twist to any painting, instead of making normal flowers, I made geometrical orange flowers in my style.

Orange and green combination painting..coming up with the layout:

First step was to come up with a layout in water colors. Surprisingly, people appreciated this layout a lot. Generally, when a layout is turned to a fully fledged painting, it gets most of the appreciation. However, this time, praises started pouring in right from the layout.

Making an oil painting based on the layout:

Next was the challenge to make an oil painting based on this idea. Using the correct shades of orange and green was vital to keep up with that lively spirit of the painting. The background was also divided into blocks and cubes in order to get a connection with the geometric foreground.

You can also note that there were hints of orange or rather geometric orange buds in the background to give a feel of flowers stretched all around the lush green field. The final painting looked like this:

This painting got a lot of praises even in the midst of it making. I personally feel that this is one of my paintings in which I have used my block style in an insightful manner.

What happened next?

I exhibited this painting in my painting exhibition – “Colors of Life” in the year 2013. Viewers also appreciated it. On the last day of this exhibition, my fellow artist Maria bought this painting. She said this painting reminded her of some fields from U.S. It’s an honor for me that my painting is now adorning the walls of her place and that too outside India!
