We all love stories, don’t we? Interestingly, our life itself is filled with so many stories! Stories can come in our life to entertain us, to take us to another world, to teach us something useful . They can also come simply for the sake of pure joy. Do you realize that there is a story behind painting too? In fact, a painting has so many sub-stories that they make a grand story for that particular painting.
If you are not getting where I am going, let me take you to all the sub stories that make a grand story or the story behind painting:
- What inspired you to make a painting or how you discovered your painting while painting randomly?
- What changes you made in your painting from the initial idea?
- Where and what environment were you painting it? Did you paint it alone or your other artist friends were painting their own painting along with you?
- What were the reactions of your friends/family while they saw your painting in its initial/middle/final stages?
- Did you feel any obstacles/confusion/discovery while making your painting?
- What was the day like when you realized your painting reached its completion and you showed it to anybody?
- Was there any particular compliment for your painting that you remember till now? Who gave it?
- What was the story behind giving a title for the painting? Did you give it right at the start, along the way or only after the painting got finished?
- If the painting got sold, what’s the story that led to its sell? Did you know the buyer personally or not?
- Where is the final/temporary home of the painting? Which wall/storage area is it placed?
Moreover, the story doesn’t finish for a painting over here. If the painting was bought by someone, that person must have had his own share of compliments/stories related to that painting. If the painting is still with you, you never know what surprises are still on your way!
That’s what is amazing about pursuing painting. You feel as if each art work goes through its own story behind painting. Those stories become a vital part of your life. Every painting has a story, don’t just paint, live each story!
